We are in a historic moment for school choice in our state. With the launch of South Carolina’s Education Scholarship Trust Fund (ESTF) program, families have new options—and schools have new opportunities to serve them. But success depends on effective implementation. That’s where this role comes in.
We’re seeking a flexible, part-time coordinator to help ensure that families and schools have the tools and support they need to navigate the program successfully. From outreach and events to digital communications and school support, the ESA Implementation Coordinator will be on the front lines of making school choice work in South Carolina.
This role has the potential to grow into a full-time position based on program developments and organizational needs.
Position Title: ESA Implementation Coordinator
Compensation & Structure:

Contract position (hours as needed; flexibility required)

$30/hour

Remote (South Carolina-based preferred)

Some statewide travel required (mileage reimbursed)

Potential to transition to a full-time role depending on program growth and court outcomes
Key Responsibilities:
Outreach & Advocacy
-
Conduct outreach to schools, families, and community organizations
-
Follow up on leads and inquiries to build engagement

Represent Palmetto Promise at education fairs, expos, and parent meetings

Expand outreach to underserved communities
School Engagement & Support

Build & maintain existing relationships with private, charter, and parochial schools

Provide resources and training to help schools navigate program requirements

Coordinate responses to school questions
Digital & Communication Support

Help craft and schedule targeted emails

Monitor and respond to web inquiries

Coordinate digital outreach efforts
Event Coordination & Reporting

Organize and participate in outreach events

Maintain detailed records of contacts and progress

Report regularly to the Palmetto Promise policy team
Qualifications:

Background in education, communications, public policy, or nonprofit work

Strong people and organizational skills

Self-starter, able to manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision

Tech-savvy: email platforms, shared spreadsheets, basic CRMs

Knowledge of school choice or ESA programs is a plus
