10. REQUIRE Price Transparency

Palmetto Promise Institute has been
supportive of price transparency in healthcare
since before the Trump Administration took up
the cause by executive order (2019-20). Patients
across South Carolina have sent us their
healthcare bills showing the rates and charges
they didn’t expect.

Patients shouldn’t have to wait for the bill
to arrive to know within reason what their
care will cost. A supermajority of Democrats,
Republicans, and Independents in South
Carolina agree.
