As the newly appointed President and CEO, please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Wendy Damron. I moved down to the Charleston area from Michigan in 2013 with my husband, Jason, and our two children to escape the cold climate. We instantly fell in love with the people, the culture, and the beauty of South Carolina.
I immediately saw so much potential here and decided that I wanted to contribute in any way I could to make it even better and freer. I became politically active in my area and across the state, affording me the opportunity to meet so many wonderful South Carolinians who share my love for the Palmetto State. I began my relationship with PPI many years ago as a supporter and became a member of the Board of Directors about five years ago.
I am honored to have been chosen to lead PPI into the next phase. Rest assured that, building on our strong foundation, we will continue to be a resource for state legislators and SC citizens who want to understand the decisions being made in Columbia and how they can affect their businesses and families.
There is no doubt I have big shoes to fill, but, PPI has never been about just one person. Over the years, we have been blessed with a team of incredible policy experts, strategists, board members, and staff whose first priority has always been to develop effective policies that will truly improve the lives of the citizens of South Carolina. Most importantly, we have you, our loyal supporters, who understand the importance of our work.
I am excited to share our 2023-2024 Palmetto Freedom Agenda with you. It is a handbook for South Carolina legislators that details twenty-three extensively researched policies that, if implemented, can help make South Carolina even better. Please take the time to read it through, and share it with friends and family.
I couldn’t be prouder of what we have accomplished so far, and I am so excited to continue to partner with you to make an even bigger impact in this legislative session and beyond. I look forward to getting to know you.
