Bill Taylor

Director, Aiken

Bill Taylor retired from the South Carolina House of Representatives in 2026 after serving eight terms representing Aiken and Lexington counties. A champion of limited government, he led efforts to curb state government overreach during the pandemic through the “Pushback Agenda,” and secured passage of the Article V Convention of States resolution joining other states in reining in the federal government. Among his many accomplishments, he successfully sponsored the ESG Pension Protection Act, which prioritizes investment returns over political agendas for state employees. He continues to serve on the National Federalism Commission as the delegate representing the South Carolina House of Representatives. Before his election in 2010, Bill spent 42 years in broadcasting and media consulting. A former television journalist and news director, he co-founded a media consulting firm that grew into a family of companies headquartered in Dallas, Los Angeles, and London. The companies advised broadcast networks, Hollywood studios, television stations, and newspapers. In 2026, Governor McMaster awarded Bill the Order of the Palmetto, South Carolina highest civilian honor, and Palmetto Promise Institute presented him with the inaugural Statesman of Freedom award.
